Tadashi Tanimoto
Founder and CEO
Tadashi launched Real Communications (now REALCOM INC.) in April, 2000 after spending 6 years in Silicon Valley, where he was a corporate strategy, venture and cross-border alliances consultant serving high-tech and life sciences clients. He is well-versed in venture capital, venture business and corporate partnerships. Prior to his stint in Silicon Valley, he was with Booz Allen Hamilton Japan, where he served Japanese and multi-national clients in consumer goods, high-tech and pharmaceutical industries on corporate strategy and operational improvement projects. For his efforts with REALCOM, Tadashi was selected Finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) Award, Japan 2005. He holds an MBA from Keio Business School, and also spent a term at Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania under an exchange program.
Kenichi Yoshida
Board Member, Chief Operating Officer
Kenichi leads REALCOM's marketing, sales, and business consulting group, with a special focus on enterprise information architecture design, information sharing, knowledge management and corporate reform projects. Prior to joining REALCOM, Kenichi was with Booz Allen Hamilton Japan, where he was a core member of the firm's internet, financial services and IT practices, actively engaged in online banking & securities, as well as corporate reform projects on behalf of Japanese and multi-national clients. Kenichi holds a BA from Hitotsubashi University.
Katsushi Takeuchi
Board Member, Chief Technology Officer
Katsushi is responsible for all facets of product and technical development at REALCOM. Prior to joining the firm, he was with Lotus (now IBM), where he led globalization of major products such as Notes Workplace and Domino 5 & 6, being responsible for product stabilization and quality-control over seven geographies. Prior to Lotus/IBM, Katsushi was a founding member of Informix Japan, and an applications software engineer at DEC Japan. In all, he brings 18 years of enterprise software development experience and expertise spanning Japan, US and rest of the world. He holds a Master's degree in Engineering from Kyushu University.
Atsushi Ichise
Board Member
Atsushi joined REALCOM in May of 2002, and leads its Technology Service group. Prior to REALCOM, for 6 years, he was an independent IT consultant overseeing development and implementation of large-scale IT systems. Before establishing his own IT consulting practice, Atsushi was with a systems subsidiary of a large trading company, as well as a large systems integrator in Japan, honing skills in large scale systems design, development and implementation vis-a-vis private and public sector clients.
Masaru Murai
Outside Board Member
Graduated from the Kwansei Gakuin Univ. business school, obtained MBA at the University of California Los Angeles graduate school.
Mr. Murai entered IBM corp., transferred to IBM Japan, Ltd. and participated in the terminal and system development of Japan's first on-line banking system.
He has held positions in Compaq KK as president, chairman and advisor.
Mr. Murai currently serves as advisor of General Atlantic Partners, LLC, chairman of the board of NetLearning, Inc., chairman of the board of DigitalDesign Co., Ltd., advisor of Toyo Engineering Corp., and board member of Toyo Business Engineering Corp.
Takeji Wakasugi
Corporate Auditor
BA, Hitotsubashi University; MBA, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania
Mr. Wakasugi started his career at Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank (DKB, now Mizuho Bank) in Tokyo, New York, and Maui, in international finance, business development, incorporation of a trust bank, and project management of condominium development. In 1985, he worked as staff to Chairman of Japanese Bankers Association, on the campaign for unitary tax reform in California.
Since 1992, he worked as an executive director of administrative division at Analog Devices' Tokyo office for four years. After working as director of administration at Japan System for three years, he joined Seiwa Kogyo as Corporate Auditor.
Kazuyoshi Komiya
Corporate Auditor
Graduated from Kyoto University faculty of law, obtained MBA at University of Dartmouth.
After experiencing Tokyo Bank and Okamoto Associates, Inc., Mr. Komiya established Komiya Consultants in 1996. He engages in a wide array of management consulting activities, regardless of industry or company size. He is active in various fields including many business journals. Mr. Komiya has participated in the Cambodia PKO as international electoral observer and received the Japanese prime minister award in 1993.
He is the author of numerous books. He is also a Systems Engineer, Financial Analyst (Member of The Security Analysts Association of Japan) and a guest professor at Spiru Haret University, Romania.
Keizo Kataoka
Corporate Auditor
BA, Hitotsubashi University
After working at Unitika (former Nippon Rayon), he joined APLUS (former Daishinpan) and took planning and accounting role for going public. Since 1991, he worked as financial director at some venture companies. In 1994, he started his own company Mercury, and he acted as a financial adviser mainly for venture companies on wide range of activities, such as M&A, financial planning, and preparation to go public. In this period, he joined Ohmae & Associates as financial officer of its group companies. Since 2001, at the time of the foundation of Ohmae Business Developments, he worked as CFO after corporate auditor, and led the incubation business.
Now he worked as part-time auditor of Kenko.com, director of Custanet Club, and auditor of Hospital Management Organization.
